8262016_24652_2.pngThe district police department provides a 24 hour phone line to receive and react to information relating to drugs, weapons, fighting, bullying, and other crimes or fears of possible crimes occurring on our campuses.~

The~1-888-Kid Chat (543-2428)~phone line provides students, parents and personnel an avenue for becoming a Silent Hero. The process ensures confidentiality and anonymity of the callers' identity. The Safe School Crime Stoppers is affiliated with the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers Program. Additionally, this department answers Kid Chat calls for the Willis, Montgomery, and Splendora School Districts. These tips are then provided to enforcement personnel responsible for that area.

Mission and Goals

The Conroe Independent School District is dedicated to the belief that guidance and counseling will function as an integral part of the total school program, contribute directly to the school mission and involve every member of the school staff. ~Developmental in content and process, the guidance and counseling program supports the efforts of teachers and parents in promoting students' self-esteem, academic readiness, social and interpersonal sensitivity, and awareness of future academic and career opportunities. ~These are needed for developing economic productivity, responsible citizenship, effective living and enjoyment of life. ~Developmental guidance and counseling in CISD is proactive, preventative and characterized by outreach and availability to all students with emphasis on the acquisition of skills.

CISD believes that all students are unique human beings who may need assistance with personal social educational, and career development. ~The primary role of the professional counselor is to work directly with parents, students, and staff to facilitate learning and growth and to help provide a safe and encouraging school environment.

Guidance and Counseling

The Guidance and Counseling Program in CISD (K-12) is focused on helping our students: be successful learners; consider their futures; identify the pathways to those futures; and take the steps necessary along the way to be successful. The program also is designed to help those students who may not be in a good place academically, socially or emotionally to be supported so that they may find academic success. ~~In elementary and intermediate schools, the focus is on building good citizens, as well developing those skills necessary to be successful academically. ~This is where students take their first look at future careers, and begin to hear about post-secondary opportunities. ~
